Final Fabric Count

The next few posts will be sorted into what kind of dying techniques were used. Everything will be tagged with "Final Fabric Count", so click the tag if you'd like to see everything together. All bleaching and dyeing has been completed, but a few pieces still need writing. I'll upload pictures of the writing afterwards.

Funny Story

So after I dyed the second round of cloth, I got so excited that I stopped taking detailed pictures or writing down the notes on the blog. It was just too much for me to handle, I guess!

Tomorrow will have a complete list of all fabrics and a simplified-yet-detailed description of how I got each one.

It's been a while since I posted pictures of any of the fabric I've dyed; turns out I've been so busy with everything in the studio that I've neglected to update any pictures.

I'll be remedying this soon.

Final Project Idea

I think I want to try and make a quilt. This past year has been insane, and it would be really super cool to have something that represents everything I've been through, good and bad.

Red

I really want to make a deep red colored piece.

My grandma recently passed away, and her favorite color was red. It seemed like most of what she owned was red. I want to make a piece that has a beautiful, deep, true red color in order to honor her.

I don't really have a picture of what color red I want, but I feel like I'll know what it is I want when I see it.

It looks like I've been hitting "save" on my posts instead of "publish".

I'll try to get this sorted out tonight. This post will be the test to see if I've really been messing up that bad.

UPDATE: Yep! Looks like I've just been hitting "save" instead of "publish." I guess I'm not as good at this whole blogging thing as I thought I was! More posts will be up shortly.

Hello and welcome to the second half of my English 3350 Text and Textiles portfolio!
